When attending your first NLefashion appointment, bring the garment along with the shoes, undergarments (including shapewear or a specific bra), and any accessories you plan to wear with it, including a belt, veil, jewellery, or hairpiece. These items directly affect where hems sit, how the bodice fits, and how straps should be positioned.

For wedding and bridal appointments, bring your bridal shoes, even if you have only the box style as heel height determines the final gown hem length and must be confirmed before pinning. If you have a specific fit goal in mind, reference photos are helpful and welcome. NLefashion provides a written estimate at the end of the consultation before any work is agreed.

NLefashion’s turnaround times by garment type: wedding gown alterations take 4–8 weeks (book at least 3–4 months before the wedding date); suit jacket alterations take 2–3 weeks; trouser alterations take 1–2 weeks; cocktail or evening dress alterations take 1–3 weeks. These timelines account for the required number of fittings, typically two to three for bridal work and one to two for suiting and formalwear.

Turnaround times can be longer during busy seasons, especially in summer. It is best to book early and discuss your deadline during the first appointment so we can confirm whether the timeline works for your garment.

Yes, appointments are required for alterations so we can review each garment properly and give enough time to the fitting. Booking ahead lets us examine the item carefully, discuss the changes you want, and assess the work before we begin.

Walk-ins may not allow enough time for a full fitting or consultation. Scheduled appointments help us provide a more organized process and a better chance of getting the fit right from the start.

Most NLefashion alterations follow a three-appointment structure: the initial consultation (adjustments pinned), one follow-up fitting (progress reviewed and refined), and a final pickup fitting (garment confirmed and taken home). Wedding and bridal alterations typically require two to three fittings due to construction complexity. Suit and formalwear alterations usually need two fittings. Simple single-garment adjustments, such as a trouser hem or strap shortening, may be completed in one fitting.

Each fitting helps us review the progress of the work and make final refinements where needed. The exact number of fittings depends on the garment, the fabric, and the type of changes being made.

We alter men’s and women’s garments, including bridal gowns, formal wear, special occasion clothing, suits, dresses, and casual pieces. We do not work with leather because it requires different tools and a different alteration process.

NLefashion’s satisfaction guarantee is straightforward: if the finished garment does not meet the agreed fit standard at the final fitting, NLefashion will continue making adjustments at no additional charge until it does. This policy applies to all alterations, from a basic hem to a full wedding gown restructure.

The guarantee covers fit accuracy against the agreed specification, and it does not cover changes in personal preference after the alterations have been agreed and completed.

The only way to assess alterations properly is through an in-person consultation, where we can examine the garment, fit, and details firsthand. Wedding dress alterations range from approximately $80 for a basic hem to $700+ for complex bodice restructuring. Common services: bustle addition $120–$180, waist and bodice resizing $150–$300, full restructure $400–$700+. Evening and cocktail dress alterations typically range from $60 to $250, depending on fabric and adjustment count. Prom dress hems start at $65. Bridesmaid dress alterations start at approximately $75 per garment.
